Start with what feels difficult
You may be looking for help with worries about school, relationships, family responsibilities, or a life change. The starting point is your own experience: what has become difficult and what you would like to work on in therapy.
Anxiety is one of my areas of focus with both young people and adults. My work also includes depression, mood concerns, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. We can discuss the concerns that matter to you together when considering whether the practice is a good fit.
If you are seeking support for your child, visit the child and adolescent therapy page for more about ages served and collaboration with parents.
A collaborative approach to coping skills
My approach is strength-based and client-centered, with interventions tailored to each person's needs. I work with clients to identify current stressors and further develop the coping skills they bring to therapy.
My therapeutic approaches include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exploring patterns in thoughts and behavior
- Mindfulness-based interventions that focus on awareness
- Person-centered therapy, with attention to your experience and goals
- Assertiveness training and interpersonal work around communication and relationships
These are approaches available in my practice. The choice of interventions depends on your individual concerns, rather than a fixed program for everyone seeking anxiety support.
What to discuss during consultation
The free 15-minute consultation gives you an opportunity to describe the concerns you would like help with and ask about the practice. You may want to discuss the situations that have been difficult, what support you are looking for, and questions about starting therapy.
Session length and fit are discussed during consultation. You can also ask about current appointment availability in Wilmington or Hampstead, insurance, and whether virtual sessions are available and appropriate for your needs.
